Welcome, then, to Literary Tourism.
To all those who are new into new types of Tourism, here we are to give some examples about it.
Literary tourism is a type of cultural tourism that deals with places and events from fictional texts or books, as well the biography of their authors.
This could include following the route taken by a fictional character, visiting particular places associated with a novel or a novelist, such as their home, or visiting a poet's grave.
Some examples:
- "Romeo & Juliet" in Verona, Italy.
- "The home of Sherlock Holmes", in London, UK.
- "Harry Potter" in London and around UK.
- "La Regenta" in Oviedo, Spain.
- "La Catedral del Mar", Barcelona, Spain.
There are some official literary routes, usually from best-sellers or classic literature which have been relevant and known after centuries.
Nevertheless, our objective here it's to showcase touristic routes related to Romanian literature from XXth century.
Apart from that, we aim to motivate you to believe in recreating any book you enjoyed!
